Would you agree with the aim of retaining the open plan nature of the estate by preserving our green open amenity spaces and by supporting the aim of preserving the existing mature trees as much as is possible.? If so please add your name to a residents group / association that could more effectively seek support from local authorities..
When the Highland Park Estate was developed in the 1970s on a site that had previously been woodland and open fields, the layout of roads and buildings followed the form of the land on which it was built. The current layout shown here has been overlain with a 1935 record of the area. Interesting features that have clearly been retained are the woodland that now comprises Wesley Wood and a recognition of field boundaries beyond which building did not take place. The site of former farm buildings can be identified in Pine Tree Close
A Residents Group / Association could help the Highland Park Estate represent views

and the footpath leading into Oakdene Close is also clearly shown. Some of the very mature trees such as the large Oak in Oakdene Close and the Oak and Liriodendron on Cranfield Avenue can be seen to be on more ancient paths and boundaries.
